We’ll fill you in on all the new features and operating specifics of this revolutionary new camera. Rob Shanahan Book Signing Feb 4th for Volume 1

Rob Shanahan will be in the Farifax store from 12PM – 4PM on Feb 4th to sign his book “Volume 1″. Rob is recognized as one of music’s most published photographers. He’s also Ringo Starr’s personal photographer. “Volume 1” is his first book of photographs and it features photos of such iconic musicians as Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Keith Richards, Eddie Van Halen, Joe Walsh, Christina Aguilera, Sheila E, Tommy Lee, Dave Navarro, and many more. It includes intimate shots of the musicians not only behind the scenes, but also in the studio, onstage and backstage as well. Along with the photos is a foreword by Ringo Starr, artist quotes, and personal anecdotes shared by Shanahan.

Sequoia National Park with David Skernick

David Skernick is leading a long weekend photo trip to the Sequoia National Park that leaves on Friday January 20th and returns on Sunday January 22.  This trip is priced affordably at $525 and includes your motel for 2 nights, one great picnic lunch, and all the instruction you can handle.  It is about a 5-hour drive to Sequoia National Park so David will email all the participants ahead of time so they can make plans to carpool and share expenses.

The Beauty Book for Brain Cancer Book Signing

Photographer Darren Tieste will be in the Samy’s Fairfax store on December 17th to sign his new book “The Beauty Book for Brain Cancer” which retails for $39.99 with all proceeds going to charity.  There is a rumor going around that one or more of his celebrity subjects might be dropping by as well.

The Beauty Book is a 312-page hard cover coffee table book , which has the support of some of the biggest identities in the world. The book is images of your favorite celebrities, musicians and top models. All the money raised, will go directly to Brain Cancer via two charities called SNOG & HEADRUSH. These charitable organizations are non- profit and both rely on donations for research.

Darren Tieste has over 15 years of shooting experience. Darren’s career has taken him all over the world, USA, Middle East, Asia and Australia with a diverse client base. Darren’s advertising clients include Napoleon Perdis Cosmetics, Samsung, Bench Lingerie, Shangri La Hotels, Pantene, Clean & Clear and Haagen Daaz. Samy’s Camera EDU and Helms Creative Workshops are combining forces to offer Pro EDU classes and workshops.  Pro EDU is a place for the more advanced photographer to take a wide range of workshops designed for the working professional.

The workshops will take place in Culver City in the Helms Bakery Complex.  Helms Creative Workshops is headed up by Mark Mercier, Jim Wimberg and Anthony Nex.
