The West Coast’s largest camera retailer is partnering with the Audubon Society to unveil a series of photography courses that’s sure to thrill bird enthusiasts and environmentalists.

“Photography is blowing up at Audubon CA as is evident by the number of images being loaded by our members to our facebook page,” says Garrison Frost, of Audubon California. “Bird enthusiasts want to share their experiences and they are doing so with photos and videos. This educational partnership is a perfect fit for our organization”

Southern California’s stunning beaches, parks and marshlands are home to hundreds of varieties of birds. Many visitors have tried to capture their beauty on camera but end up with blurry shots of wings in flight or find that their subject hides before they can get the shot. Samy’s Camera EDU can help sharpen those photographic skills by providing workshops taught by experts in wildlife and nature photography.

The program goes beyond the classroom – students will pack up their gear and head to the field where they’ll receive hands-on training about approaching birds in their natural habitat and mastering their cameras to capture that once in a lifetime shot. Students are sure to leave this class with spectacular photography that they can hang in their homes and share with fellow enthusiasts.

“We have relationships with the world’s top photographers,” says Samy’s Director of Education Michael Britt. “We’re tapping into their expertise to create workshops tailored to the interests of Audubon supporters. It’s an unprecedented and exciting opportunity for bird and wildlife enthusiasts.”

Samy’s is offering Audubon supporters a 10% discount off all bird and wildlife designated classes and workshops at Samys.com/edu. The company is also donating 10% of the workshops’ fees to Audubon California to support their invaluable conservation and advocacy efforts.

The series will begin with “Photographing Birds In Their Natural Habitat” led by UCLA professor Hartmut S. Walter on July 7.
