Instructor Gregg Cobarr received this great testimonial about the class he taught last weekend here at Samy’s EDU. Gregg teaches Better Photos Now on a regular rotation and his next class is in Santa Ana on Sept 27th and in Los Angeles on October 15th. He is also leading a great travel workshop in Solvang on Sept 24th.
I just wanted to reach out and say thanks for your Better Photos Now class on Saturday morning at Samy’s. I am a banker by experience and now with an insurance services group but over the past three or four years have got more and more involved and have taken photography much more seriously, taking a lot of family photos and even a couple of Quinceañera’s.
With encouragement from Natasha Calzatti, whom I did a Samy’s Photoshop Class with in May and now just finished Lightroom too, I have ventured into taking Raw images regularly and making much more use of the “M’ (manual) setting – almost ALL the time. Before your class, I was getting it slowly but you explained the whole correlation between Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO so well, with the f stops I think I’m gonna take much Better Photos NOW!
The session outside with Nadia will help me consider light a lot more in everyday situations and how a slight change will affect the feel to the resulting image. I was able to bring away some nice shots from that session too. It’s not everyday I get the chance to shoot a model! I look forward to coming back for Better Photos 2 and taking my images to another new level - Ian Hopkinson
